Nick Vena: We Knew He Ruled, Now He Has a Proclamation
Assemblyman presents state honor at Board of Education meeting.
Nick Vena's list of accolades is long enough to take five minutes to recite.
The Morristown High School senior, recently named Prom King for 2011, has become a living legend in the annals of Morristown sports. While maintaining a 3.9 grade point average, he has become a National Honors Society inductee, as well, and will be attending the University of Virginia at Charlottesville this fall on a full scholarship.
Despite the absolute flood of achievements the shotput and discus champion has gained, with a couple weeks left in the school year, there is still time for Vena to get a couple more.

On Monday, June 6, with his parents Vic and Michelle, several teachers, coaches, friends and teammates in attendance, Vena received a proclamation from the state of New Jersey for his work both on and off the athletic field, from Assemblyman Anthony Bucco Jr.
"I am sure we are going to see your name over and over and over," the 25th District assemblyman said. "Seize the moment, make us proud. It's an honor to be here."

"He's an incredible student athlete, and all of the accolades he has received are truly deserved," said Paul Buccino, head coach for the Morristown High School Track & Field team. "He's very special."
