Directed by Dave Davidson & Amber Edwards
Vince Giordano is Hollywood’s go-to guy for authentic period soundtracks, creating the music for films by Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Woody Allen and the Emmy Award winning HBO series “Boardwalk Empire.” He is also a New York institution who plays nightclubs, jazz festivals, and radio shows. Inexplicably, Giordano remains largely unknown beyond his passionate fan base. This film looks at the life of this eccentric musician who is helping to keep the Jazz Age going strong in 21st Century New York. This special screening is being held in conjunction with the “Jersey Spirits” exhibition and features Bickford favorites, Dan Levinson, Jim Fryer, Adrian Peterson and Evan Palozzi. There will be a Q&A after the screening with Vince Giordano and the filmmakers. Morris Museum, 6 Normandy Heights Rd., Morristown, NJ 07960, 973-971-3706, http://www.morrismuseum.org/jazz-showcase/. $7 General Public; $5 Members of Museum or Theatre Guild
