Want To Vote In Morris Co.? Here Are Some Dates To Know

If you want to vote, make sure you're registered by the deadline.

MORRIS CO., NJ — As the 2018 election season ramps up, Morris County residents who plan on voting should take note of several important deadlines, including the last day to register to vote before the primaries or the general election.

Here are seven important dates to remember leading up to the November 2018 general election:

April 11: The last day to change your political affiliation before the primaries. All party change forms must be submitted 55 days before the primary election. You can find forms in six different languages here. This date only affects those who are currently affiliated with a party and are looking to make a change. Not currently affiliated? You can declare at any point up to and including election day.

May 15: The last day to register to vote in the June primaries. To register to vote, you have to be at least 17 and will turn 18 before the election, a resident of America for at least 30 days before the election, and are not currently on probation or parole for a federal offense. Forms are available in English and Spanish, and must be mailed in. You can find forms in multiple languages for all counties here.

May 29: The last day to send in a vote by mail ballot for the June primary. Need to register for a main-in ballot? Forms are available in English and Spanish, and must be mailed in. You can find forms in multiple languages for all counties here.

June 5: Primary Election. New Jersey has closed primaries, which means you must be affiliated with a political party. If you are not already affiliated with a party, you can declare one up to and including on June 5. You can find forms in six different languages here. Registered with one party but want to vote in another's primary? Forms to switch party affiliations had to be submitted by April 11.

October 16: The last day to register to vote in the November general election.
