Watch Giant Black Bears Attack Each Other on Morris County Street

YouTube video captures these wild animals wrestling for authority in Rockaway, New Jersey.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported the location of the death of a Rutgers University student who was attacked by a bear; the attack occurred in Passaic, not Bergen, County. Also, the story stated that the last fatal black bear attack in New Jersey occurred in 1852; that was also incorrect. As NJ.com reported in this article, there are no reliably documented fatal black bear attacks in New Jersey prior to the September 2014 attack on the Rutgers student.

It looks like a movie scene: two adult black bears fighting one another for superiority, the battle lasting for nearly six minutes.

Only this isn’t a Hollywood production and did not occur in the wilderness. Rather it began in someone’s front yard then spilled into the street of a Morris County town.

A YouTube video has surfaced showing the bruins grappling, biting, and even beating each other with their large paws. The producer of the 6 minute, 25-second clip goes by the Internet handle “TheTubeUser86” and claims the video was shot Aug. 14 in Rockaway, New Jersey. That user’s clip is a stabilized version of the original, which was uploaded earlier this year by ”J Domzalski,” according to the post.
