Dr. Christopher McCulloh was paralyzed in a slip-and-fall accident. Now, he uses a high-tech standing wheelchair to operate. Watch here.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Dr. Christopher McCulloh knows what its like for his patients with serious injuries, because he's been that patient with a serious injury. After becoming paralyzed in a slip-and-fall accident, McCulloh now uses a standard wheelchair to get around-- except for when he operates, when he uses a state-of-the-art standing wheelchair at Morristown Medical Center.

McCulloh's story was featured on ABCs 20/20 Wednesday night, as part of a program highlighting doctors with disabilities. The special was part of a promotion for ABC's new show, The Good Doctor, about a surgeon with autism.

Having already been accepted to medical school at the time of his injury, McCulloh found a way to continue operating, by using a Levo C3 standing wheelchair. Now the third year general surgery resident can perform all of the same duties his coworkers can, while standing at their level.
