WATCH: Morristown Duo's UFO Prank Named One of TruTV's Best Hoaxes Ever

An unexplained series of lights in the night sky can make believers and skeptics alike reach common ground when it comes to UFO sightings.

But for Chris Russo and Joe Rudy, it was just fun and games.

The Morristown duo spent parts of 2009 and 2010 attaching road flares to weather balloons and sending them up into the Morris County sky, making believers out of skeptics.

It wasn’t until 2010 when the duo came clean and explained their hoax in Skeptic magazine.

And now, the prank has been named by TruTV as one of the best hoaxes ever.

The network’s two-plus-minute spot on the hoax, which includes an interview with Russo and Rudy, can be seen below.
