This Week is National Health Center Week in Morris County
The Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders proclaimed Aug. 7 to Aug. 13 as National Health Center Week.

Today, The Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders proclaimed this week, Aug. 7 to Aug. 13, as National Health Center Week in Morris County.
The freeholders hope that a designated health center week will address the need for affordable medical care for Morris County’s less financially stable residents.
“Even with the growth of health centers across the state and country, the demand for Health Center services continues to outpace growth. The expansion of health centers’ capacity and reach is essential to meet the needs of new patients who are knocking at their doors," Kathryn A. DeFillippo, Director of the Morris County Board of Chosen Freeholders, said in a press release.

They also wish for all residents to visit the local health center throughout the week.
“I encourage Morris County residents to visit our local Health Center, Zufall health, in Dover or Morristown, and celebrate the important partnership between America’s Health Centers and the communities they serve,” DeFillippo said in a press release.

Along with the freeholders, Eva Turbiner, president and CEO of Zufall Health, and William Shuler, Chairman of the Board of Zufall Health, were at today’s Freeholder Board meeting.
Health Centers, like Zufall, provide quality, cost effective services such as medical, vision, oral, and behavioral health, the press release said.
Zufall Health and other Health Centers serve underprivileged residents who might experience problems with health care, such as with their income, location, or insurance status, the press release stated.
In 2015, Zufall Health saw 30,000 patients. Zufall Health provides service to residents of Morris, Sussex, Hunterdon, Warren, Somerset, and Essex counties.
