The National Weather Service says snow, ice and freezing rain is a potential threat in these counties: Union, Morris, Hunterdon, Warren, Somerset and Sussex.

A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for the rest of the state, but most of New Jersey is supposed to get rain.

  • Tuesday: A chance of snow, mainly between 11am and 3pm. Cloudy, with a high near 32. South wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
  • Tuesday night: Rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet, becoming all rain after midnight (just rain in northeastern and southern New Jersey). Low around 30. South wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
  • Wednesday: A chance of rain before 7am. Partly sunny, with a high near 50. Southwest wind 6 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
  • Wednesday night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. South wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
  • Thursday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52. Southwest wind 9 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
  • Thursday night: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
