1 Dead, 3 Wounded After Gunfire In Newark; Shooter Still At Large

Four people were shot in Newark. No arrests have been made, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — Authorities said that one person is dead and three others are wounded after a shooting in Newark on Thursday night.

Newark police responded to the 1000-block of Broad Street at 7:28 p.m. after getting a report about a shooting, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Officers found Al-Supreme Davis, 30, on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:40 p.m., authorities said.

Three other victims were reportedly shot and survived.
