2 Men Rob Newark Supermarket At Gunpoint: Police
One suspect brandished a handgun and told the worker to get on the ground. The other jumped over the counter and took cash, police said.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are searching for two men who allegedly robbed a local supermarket at gunpoint, authorities announced Monday.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the robbery took place around 7:15 p.m. on Feb. 22 at the Los Tribunes Supermarket on the 500-block of Bergen Street.

“The suspects walked into the store and one of them brandished a weapon while telling the employee to get on the ground. The second suspect jumped over the counter and took $846 from two cash registers. Both men fled southbound on Bergen Street.”
Newark police released surveillance photos of the suspects (see below).
Police said the first suspect – who allegedly brandished the gun – is 5 feet 9 inches with a thin build and a medium-dark skin complexion. He was wearing a sweatshirt, jeans, black Nike ACG boots and a ski mask.

The second suspect is 5 feet 6 inches and has a heavyset, stocky build and a light skin complexion. He was wearing a grey, hooded sweatshirt turned inside out, black ski pants, a ski mask and black/white Nike sneakers.
