2 Teens Stabbed Near Newark High School, 1 Dies: Prosecutor

NEWARK, NJ — A stabbing near a high school in Newark claimed the life of a teen and injured another juvenile on Tuesday, authorities said.

According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, the suspected homicide took place on Park Avenue, a short distance from Barringer High School.

One teen died from his injuries, and another was hospitalized, authorities said.

While the stabbing took place near the high school, there isn’t currently any indication the location is related, a spokesperson with the ECPO said.
