22-Year-Old Dies In Newark Shooting; Investigation Continues
A victim died in a fatal shooting that took place in Newark, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — A 22-year-old man died in a fatal shooting that took place in Newark on Thursday evening, authorities said.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Newark police responded to the 400-block of 14th Avenue around 7 p.m. The officers found Cyrano Green, 22, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders transported Green to University Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 7:26 p.m.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Task Force, is investigating the shooting. Authorities said anyone with information can contact detectives at 877-847-7432.
