3 Essex County Men Arrested, Charged With Murder: Authorities

Police made three arrests in connection with the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old victim in Newark, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — Police made three arrests in connection with the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old victim in Newark, authorities announced Thursday.

Tyshon Armor, 19, of Newark, Reynold Henderson, 18, of Irvington, and Isaad S. Jackson, 20, of Newark, were each charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon.

The fatal shooting took place around 4 p.m. Tuesday near St. Paul Avenue, according to a joint statement from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.

Newark police officers arriving on the scene found the victim, Dedric Bracey, 22 of Newark, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders transported Bracey to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:35 p.m.

“Information developed at the scene indicated that the suspects fled in a dark-colored SUV,” authorities said.

Shortly after the shooting on Saint Paul Avenue, detectives from the New Jersey State Police observed a vehicle in Irvington which matched the description of the vehicle involved in the shooting, police said.

The detectives stopped the vehicle, which was occupied by three men later identified as Armor, Henderson and Jackson, who were each charged with murder after an ensuing investigation, authorities said.

Armor, Henderson and Jackson were transported to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark pending detention hearings, police said.
