3 Men Beat, Stomped Victim During Robbery In Newark: Police

Newark police are searching for three men who attacked a victim during a robbery, authorities said.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are searching for three men who beat and stomped a victim during a robbery last week, authorities announced Thursday.

The Newark Department of Public Safety released the following details about the robbery, which took place on May 14:

“At approximately 4:45 a.m., police responded to the 100-block of Jefferson Street after getting a call about a robbery. A man was walking towards Ferry Street when three males approached him and began striking him in the face with closed fists. The victim fell to the ground and was then kicked and stomped by the suspects, who took his personal belongings before fleeing on foot. The suspects headed southbound on Jefferson Street and turned left onto Lafayette Street.”

Newark police released surveillance photos of the suspects (see below). Authorities said one man was wearing a North Face jacket, black pants, and black and white sneakers. Another man was wearing a hooded sweatshirt bearing a Kappa logo, black pants, and black and white sneakers. The third suspect was wearing all black clothing.
