3 Newark Schools Among 100 ‘Best High Schools’ In NJ: Report

NEWARK, NJ — Three Newark high schools were among the top 100 institutions in New Jersey, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2019 rankings of "best high schools."

North Star Academy Charter School was the 15th-highest-ranked institution in the Garden State, U.S. News & World Report stated. Nationwide, North Star Academy Charter School placed at #371 among more than 20,500 public high schools. (See the full state list here)

Other high-ranking Newark schools included:

• Science Park High School - #34 in NJ; #645 nationwide
• Technology High School - #86 in NJ; #2000 nationwide

To reach its conclusions, the study compared factors such as “college readiness,” reading and math proficiency, reading and math performance; underserved student performance; college curriculum breadth; and graduation rates.
