3 Shot In Newark, 1 Dies; No Arrests Made, Authorities Say
Newark has seen another multiple shooting, authorities said. A shooting two weeks ago wounded three and killed one.
NEWARK, NJ — Newark has seen another multiple shooting, authorities announced Monday.
A shooting in New Jersey’s largest city left one man dead and two others injured on Sunday night, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office. Authorities released a statement about the shooting:
“On April 30, at 8:09 p.m., Newark police responded to a report of a shooting at the 800 block of 18th Avenue in Newark. Police found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Altariq Johnson, 46, of Newark, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:26 p.m. The two other victims were taken to University Hospital in Newark and treated for injuries.”
No arrests have been made as of Monday.

A police investigation continues. Authorities said anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips line at 1-877-TIPS-4EC or 1-877-847-7432.
Newark saw another multiple shooting earlier this month. An Irvington resident was charged with murder in connection with the gunfire on April 15, which killed one person and wounded three others.
