5 People Stabbed In Newark; Police Arrest New York Resident
Five people were stabbed during a violent encounter in Essex County. An out-of-state man was arrested, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — Five people were stabbed during a violent encounter on Prospect Street in Newark on Sunday, authorities said.
Police responded to the 100-block of Prospect Street at 5:27 p.m. after getting a call about a stabbing. Officers found five adult males with wounds at the scene, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Emergency responders transported the injured men to University Hospital. Each is reportedly in stable condition, police said Monday.

Police arrested Daniel Alfredo Cuyo Chugchilan, 33, of Queens, NY. He was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
