M&Ms HALLOWEEN– For the eighth year in a row, M&M’s and Mars will bring the people of Newark– the birthplace and home of America’s favorite bite-sized chocolate candies – together with the annual M&M’S Halloween Treat Truck experience, providing Halloween treats and family-friendly fun for all. HEAR BRAHMS– Award-winning composer Dorothy Chang wrote her inspirational and bright Northern Star as part of a larger collection of commissions from several Canadian composers in 2017. Michelle Cann makes a triumphant return to the Symphony stage with Strauss’ light, virtuosic and witty Burleske for Piano and Orchestra. Takes place on Thursday, Oct. 20 at NJPAC in Newark. FAMILY DAY– National Syndication Radio Personality, Lenny Green of WBLS-FM 107.5 has partnered with My Sisters Lighthouse Resource Center to host its 2nd Annual “Quiet Storm/My Sisters Lighthouse Family Day and DV Walk” to break the silence of Domestic Violence at Mulberry Commons Park in downtown Newark from 10am-4pm on Saturday, Oct. 29.
