7 Victims In 2 Newark Shootings, 1 Dies: Authorities
Shootings took place on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Orange Avenue, Newark police said.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are investigating two shootings that took place on Tuesday. Multiple victims were involved and one died from their injuries, authorities said.
The first shooting took place just before 4 p.m. Police responded to a Shot Spotter notification on the 700-block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. A man and two women were shot, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
The male victim died. The injuries to the two females did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

SOUTH ORANGE AVENUE SHOOTING
Five minutes later, police responded to the 200-block of South Orange Avenue on a Shot Spotter notification involving four injured people, authorities said.

Four males were hurt in the shooting. None of the injuries appear life-threatening, police said.
Newark police and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating both shootings and are pursuing all active leads, authorities said Tuesday afternoon.
