5-Year-Old Boy Found Stabbed In Newark, Mom In Custody: Reports

NEWARK, NJ — A Newark mother was taken into police custody Monday evening after her 5-year-old son was found stabbed on Murray Street near Brunswick Street, according to multiple reports.

The boy was rushed to the hospital and was in stable condition as of around 6 p.m. Monday evening, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé told NJ Advance Media.

It was not immediately clear if charges were filed against the boy's mother, whose name has not been released, according to NBC4 New York, which had received information from police.
