NEWARK, NJ — Six people were killed Friday night in a fiery crash in Essex County, according to multiple reports citing the county prosecutor's office.

The crash happened around 10:45 p.m. on Raymond Boulevard in Newark, NJ Advance Media reported. The vehicle was traveling toward the on-ramp to southbound Routes 1 and 9 when it left the road, went airborne and struck a support column for the Pulaski Skyway.

The car caught fire after landing, police told ABC7.
