6 Firefighters Injured, Dozens Displaced After Massive Fire In Newark
The fire started Friday night before eventually spreading to several nearby buildings, reports said.
NEWARK, NJ — Six firefighters were injured and nearly 60 people were displaced following a massive blaze in Newark on Friday night, according to reports citing officials.
The fire started around 10:30 p.m. at 196 Jefferson St. and eventually spread to five nearby buildings, CBS New York and ABC7 reported.
Fire crews were able to contain the blaze shortly before 3:30 a.m., reports said.

Six firefighters were taken to University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda told ABC7.
Reports said 59 people were left homeless following the blaze. The Red Cross is assisting displaced residents with "temporary lodging, food, clothing, and other immediate needs."
