Accident Involving Five Cars Slows Down NJ Turnpike Traffic on Thursday

Incident took place around Exit 14A when a BMW broke down in left lane, police said.

A five-car collision caused traffic backups on the New Jersey Turnpike Extension on Thursday morning.

According to a spokesman with the NJ State Police, the incident took place around 7:55 a.m. near the westbound section of Exit 14A, when a BMW became stuck in the left lane and caused a “rear-ender” situation involving four other cars, including a black Lincoln, a white Chrokee and a black Honda.

Police said that although one driver complained of back pain, no EMS services were needed.

The accident was cleared by 9:47 a.m., according to police.
