A New Jersey woman has pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal accident in Newark that claimed the life of an alleged drug dealer.

A Hudson County woman has pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a fatal accident in Newark that claimed the life of an alleged drug dealer, a report says.
On Monday, Jessica Manno, 29, of Bayonne, pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a crash that killed Anthony Gant, 28, of Newark, in September of 2014, NJ.com reported.
According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, Manno had allegedly visited Newark to buy narcotics from Gant when the two started arguing and he punched her in the face.

NJ.com reported that during Monday’s hearing, Manno said that after being hit, she tried to drive away but Gant continued to hold onto the vehicle. Manno then allegedly accelerated and turned, driving alongside a parked car and sideswiping it, knocking Gant off the vehicle.
During Monday’s court appearance, Manno acknowledged that she left the scene of the accident and didn’t call police.

Charges of vehicular homicide and endangering an injured victim were dismissed as part of a plea agreement, NJ.com stated.
As part of the agreement, Manno is expected to receive a suspended, three-year state prison sentence, NJ.com reported.
