A 27-year-old Newark man was killed Sunday in what authorities are calling a targeted shooting.
Alexander Toledo was fatally shot in the 200 block of North 7th Street at about 1 p.m. Sunday, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. Toledo was pronounced dead at the scene at about 1:25 p.m.
No arrests have been made and a motive has not been determined, the prosecutor's office said.
"It does not appear to be a random shooting, Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly said.
