The Associated Humane Societies will partner with Best Friends Animal Society and Walmart to host a special fee-waived adoption event in New Jersey on Saturday, May 30 to celebrate National Pet Month.
The adoption event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Walmart at 326 West Main Street in Freehold. Learn more here.
A variety of adoptable dogs, cats and kittens will be available to go home with their new families on the same day. Potential adopters are encouraged to bring all household members, including current dogs, to help ensure the best possible match, organizers said.
As part of the event, adoption fees for all available animals will be completely waived, helping remove barriers for families looking to adopt and giving more pets the opportunity for a fresh start, organizers said.
Associated Humane Societies (AHS) is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey. It has locations in Newark, Tinton Falls, Forked River and Vineland.
