Dozens of million-dollar lottery tickets have been sold so far this year in New Jersey – and the list continues to grow, officials say.
On Wednesday, the New Jersey Lottery released a map of towns and cities where prizes of $1 million or more have been sold during the first half of 2026.
View the map here, or see it below.
A total of 36 prizes reached the million-dollar mark. Winning tickets were sold in the following places: Belford, Brick, Brigantine, Burlington County, Closter, East Orange, Edison, Gloucester City, Hasbrouck Heights, Holmdel, Jersey City, Lyndhurst, Millville, Monroe, Newark, Old Bridge, Paterson, Rio Grande, Rivervale, Roseland, Secaucus, South Plainfield, Somerdale, South River, Teaneck, Tinton Falls, Toms River, Trenton, Union City, Villas, Waretown, West Milford, and Woodbridge.
In a strange quirk of fate, 18 of these million-dollar tickets were sold on the same day: the Powerball drawing on April 29.
The unusually high number of winners in that drawing appears to have resulted from many players selecting their numbers from a single vertical column on their play slips – a pattern that exists across multiple state lottery play slips.
Three of those winning tickets were still unclaimed as of June, lottery officials reported.
