Police released the following details about the assaults:

NUN ATTACKED – Police responded to Orange Street near South 11th Street around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday after getting a call about a robbery. The victim – a nun – was walking southbound on South 11th Street when a man approached and punched her, knocking her to the ground. The man grabbed the woman’s purse and fled the scene. The victim was transported to University Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition, authorities said.

BUS RIDER RAPED – Later that day around 8 a.m., a woman reported that a man attacked and sexually assaulted her after she got off a bus at Hudson Street near Central Avenue. The victim said the man followed her, brandished a handgun and demanded that she hand over her purse – which she did. The man then struck her in the face with the gun, pushed her to the ground and applied pressure to her neck until she passed out. After regaining consciousness, the woman found that she had been raped. Emergency responders transported the woman to University Hospital. She is reportedly in stable condition, authorities said.

Detectives identified Green as a suspect after reviewing surveillance footage of each incident.

Green has been charged with robbery, aggravated sexual assault in the course of a felony, aggravated assault, attempted murder and criminal restraint, as well as an additional robbery charge in connection with the Orange Street incident.
