UPDATED: New Date For Anti-Trump Protest In Essex County, NJ
A coalition of Essex County community leaders plan to lead a protest rally against the Trump administration.

NEWARK, NJ — Update: The “ONE UNITED” Protest Rally Against the Administration of President Donald J. Trump, scheduled take place on March 18, 2017, at the Essex County Hall of Records (front stairs), in Newark, New Jersey, at 9:30 A.M., has been postponed due to predicted inclement weather. The new date is April 8 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., organizers stated in a flyer.

A coalition of Essex County community leaders plan to lead a protest rally and march in opposition to the administration of President Donald Trump in Newark on Saturday, March 18.

According to organizers, the “One United” protest will “allow citizens to join together to stand in solidarity against the executive orders imposed under the Trump administration.”
The rally is also “intended to offer individuals an opportunity to stand in unity as one united voice and collectively address the issues that will adversely affect the community,” organizers stated.

Participants will include Britnee Timberlake, president of the Essex County Board of Chosen Freeholders, East Orange City Councilman Mustafa Al-M. Brent, City of Orange Township Council President Donna Williams and People’s Organization for Progress Chairman Larry Hamm.
The rally will start at 9:30 a.m. on March 18 on the front stairs of the Essex County Hall of Records at 465 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Newark. The rally will then advance to the federal building at 946 Broad Street in Newark, organizers said.
