Armed Bandits Rob Newark Grease Business, Make Getaway: Police
A worker at a used cooking oil and recycling company was getting ready to open for the day. Then two armed men approached, police said.
NEWARK, NJ — Two armed men recently robbed a used cooking oil and recycling company in Newark, making their getaway with $12,000 in cash, authorities announced Tuesday.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the robbery took place around 6:10 a.m. on Jan. 31 at World Grease LLC, a professional used cooking oil and recycling company located at 16 Libella Court.

“Two suspects brandishing weapons exited [a blue, four-door Honda] while an employee was about to open the business. One of the suspects grabbed the employee and demanded money as he pointed the weapon, forcing the worker into an office, where the $12,000 was taken. Both suspects got into the getaway vehicle and fled south on Libella Court.”
Police said one of the suspects was wearing black clothing and a ski mask, and the other suspect was wearing a blue jacket, blue jeans and a ski mask.
