Ballots Left Uncounted Across Essex County On Election Day: Report
Voting machines in 56 districts across Essex County were shut down without being counted first. Here's where.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — Election Day ballots from dozens of voting districts in Essex County weren’t counted Tuesday night because of what a local official called a “poll worker error,” a report says.
Essex County Clerk Christopher Durkin said voting machines in 56 districts were shut down without being counted first, News 12 New Jersey reported.
Durkin said a judge has to issue an order before the machines can be opened and the results can be retrieved. There will be an investigation into the cause of the issue, he added.
