Becoming A Homeowner In Newark: Workshop Will Reach Out To Section 8 Renters

The event will help families on Section 8 Housing learn how to transition from renting to homeownership.

In celebration of National Homeownership Month this June, NACA, the nation’s largest HUD-approved nonprofit homeownership and advocacy organization, in partnership with the Newark Housing Authority, will host a special two-day Homeownership Event on Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14 beginning at 8:00 a.m. at The Waterfront, 2 Grafton Avenue, Newark, NJ, 07104, designed to help individuals and families on Section 8 Housing transition from renting to homeownership.

Homebuyers complete the following four steps in just one day:

  1. Homebuyer Workshop: Learn about NACA’s homeownership programs and resources.
  2. Information & Document Upload: Provide information and upload documents into NACA’s Member Portal.
  3. Personalized Counseling: Meet one-on-one with a NACA HUD-certified housing counselor.
  4. Mortgage Qualification: Meet with a NACA Mortgage Specialist to qualify for NACA’s Best in America Mortgage or the next steps.
