Bloomfield Resident Fatally Shot, Found In Newark Supermarket: Police
A Bloomfield resident was found with gunshot wounds at a grocery store in Newark earlier this week, authorities say.
ESSEX COUNTY, NJ -- A Bloomfield resident was found with fatal gunshot wounds at at a supermarket in Newark earlier this week, authorities say.
Newark police officers responded to a grocery store on the 300-block of South 7th Street around 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday after getting reports about gunfire. The officers found an unresponsive woman in the store suffering from gunshot wounds, according to a statement from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
First responders rendered aid, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:57 p.m.

Authorities identified the deceased as Nakiyyah Blue, 26, of Bloomfield.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the shooting. Anyone with information can contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s tip line at 877-847-7432, authorities said.
