Body Found In NJ Cemetery; Homicide Investigation Launched
Authorities are probing a potential homicide after a dead body was found in a Newark graveyard.
NEWARK, NJ — Authorities have launched an investigation after a dead body was found in a cemetery on South 19th Street in Newark on Wednesday afternoon.
A spokesperson with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that a homicide investigation is taking place at the cemetery, although the incident is not being considered a “confirmed homicide” as of Thursday morning. The person’s identity hasn’t been released, and authorities are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause and manner of death.
