Body Found In Passaic River Near Stadium, Park In Newark
Emergency responders located the man's body after an extended search, authorities said Friday.

NEWARK, NJ — Emergency responders located a deceased man’s body in the Passaic River after an extended search that launched earlier this week, authorities said Friday.
The man reportedly entered the river around 4:25 p.m. on Wednesday, but didn’t come back up, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety.
Emergency responders have carried out repeated searches for the man since then, including deploying a Zodiac boat, using sonar to scan the bottom of the river and sending out divers.

Police got a call about a deceased body floating in the river on Friday morning near Red Bull Arena in Harrison, which is located along the waterway. Officers found the body near Riverbank Park at Raymond Boulevard and Brill Street, authorities said.
Newark firefighters are helping to retrieve the man’s body from the river, authorities said.
