Boy Shoots Himself In Hand After Finding Family Member’s Gun, Newark Police Say
A 7-year-old child was hospitalized with self-inflicted gunshot injury in Essex County, authorities said.
NEWARK, NJ — A child was hospitalized after shooting himself in the hand in Newark on Monday morning, authorities said.
According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, a 7-year-old boy was treated at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for a self-inflicted gunshot injury to his hand.
The incident took place at a home on the 300-block of Clinton Place after the juvenile found a firearm that belonged to family member, police said.
