Breaking the Silence: Fibroid Fighters Summit Brings Women’s Health to the Forefront

An important conversation about women’s health is taking center stage in New York City this month.

On Thursday, July 30, the New York Marriott Marquis will host the Inaugural Fibroid Fighters Summit: Your Health in Full Bloom, bringing together celebrity advocates, leading physicians, and women’s health experts for an evening dedicated to education, empowerment, and advocacy surrounding uterine fibroids.

Hosted by Cynthia Bailey and Kym Lee, the summit will feature appearances by Toya Wright, Shereé Whitfield, Shay Johnson, renowned fibroid specialist Dr. Yan Katsnelson, and a special live performance by Jordin Sparks, with additional guests expected throughout the evening.

While the event includes well-known faces, its mission extends far beyond celebrity appearances.

According to organizers, nearly 80% of Black women are expected to develop uterine fibroids by the age of 50, yet many remain unaware of available treatment options or where to turn for trusted information and support.

Founded by Dr. Yan Katsnelson and his wife, Fibroid Fighters is committed to increasing awareness, expanding access to education, and empowering women to become advocates for their own health.

“Too many women suffer in silence because they don’t know their options,” Dr. Katsnelson said in a statement. “Our mission is to educate women, expand access to minimally invasive treatment options, and empower every woman to become her own health advocate.”

Host Cynthia Bailey echoed that message, emphasizing the importance of creating safe spaces where women can openly discuss their health and leave feeling informed and empowered.

The evening will feature expert led discussions, personal stories, educational resources, and opportunities for women to connect with physicians, advocates, and others who have experienced similar journeys.
