Brothers, 20 and 21, Shot Dead In Newark: Police

Police are investigating a double shooting that claimed the lives of two young men in Newark.

NEWARK, NJ — Police are investigating a double shooting that claimed the lives of two young men in Essex County on Wednesday.

The shooting took place around 9:26 p.m. on the 900-block of Bergen Street in Newark, and involved two brothers, Quan Harmon, 20, and Quamir Harmon, 21, both of Newark, authorities said.

Emergency responders transported both men to University Hospital. Quan Harmon was pronounced dead at 10:12 p.m. Quamir Harmon was initially listed in critical condition and was pronounced dead at 12:25 a.m., police said.

“The investigation is active and ongoing… at this time, no arrests have been made,” Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert Laurino and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said in a joint statement on Thursday.
