Car Found In Glen Ridge Owned By Missing Person In Newark: Police

The vehicle's owner wasn't found after a search of the area, Glen Ridge police said.

ESSEX COUNTY, NJ — A car owned by a person reported missing in Newark was found in Glen Ridge earlier this week, authorities said Tuesday.

A Glen Ridge police officer found a parked, unoccupied vehicle on the 700-block of Bloomfield Avenue around 3 a.m. on Monday. After checking the vehicle, police learned that its owner was reported missing in Newark.

The vehicle’s owner was not found after a search of the area, Glen Ridge police said.

Newark police officers responded to the scene and took custody of the vehicle. Police in Newark have taken over the investigation, Glen Ridge authorities said.
