Newark Child Dies, Found ‘Unresponsive’ In Bathtub Of Apartment: PD
The cause of death for the 5-year-old is pending an autopsy, Essex County prosecutors said.
NEWARK, NJ — Police are investigating the death of a young child who was found unresponsive in a bathtub at a Newark apartment on Monday night, authorities said.
Newark police responded to a home on the 400-block of Washington Street at 7:26 p.m. after getting a report about the 5-year-old child, who was transported to University Hospital and pronounced dead at 8:19 p.m.
The cause and manner of death is pending an autopsy, according to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Department of Public Safety.
