FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Newark Educator and Real-Life Superhero Timothy Carr Launches The Adventures of Mr. Carr and Playmakers Developement IncNewark, New Jersey | October 15, 2026 For 28 years, Newark educator, football coach, and community advocate Timothy Carr has dedicated his career to inspiring young people. Now, he's taking that mission to another level through two exciting initiatives: his superhero video series, The Adventures of Mr. Carr #33NTU, and the launch of his nonprofit organization, Playmakers Developement Inc. Known for bringing the spirit of Captain America into his classroom and Special Olympics programs, Carr has demonstrated that being a superhero isn't necessarily about possessing extraordinary powers. It's about making an extraordinary difference in the lives of others. His superhero series, The Adventures of Mr. Carr, combines action, imagination, and storytelling with themes of courage, perseverance, and overcoming adversity. Carr's creative approach to education has previously attracted national media attention, including appearances on The Kelly Clarkson Show and Inside Edition. Building on that foundation, Carr is now launching Playmakers Developement Inc, a nonprofit initiative designed to create opportunities for young people through athletics, mentorship, education, and community engagement.

Somewhere between the last sidewalk table coming in for the season and the first Small Business Saturday sign going up on Halsey Street, most Newark shop owners take a long look at their own front door. It's the first thing a holiday shopper sizes up and the one thing every single customer touches. A door that drags. A panel gone cloudy with scratches. A closer that snaps shut on somebody's heel. In September none of it feels urgent; by December, with a line out the door, it's hard to miss. Quicken Glass installs storefront entrances built for that kind of traffic, and most projects come down to two directions. All glass doors give a boutique the most open face on the block. Aluminum framed doors take heavier hardware and bigger openings, so restaurants, salons, and buildings where several tenants share one entrance tend to go that way. There's a practical upside too: with a framed system, a cracked panel can often be replaced without redoing the whole front.

Commercial Mirror Installation for Salons, Studios, and Boutiques

Inside, the glass that works hardest is usually on the wall. In a barbershop, a fitting room, or a small training studio, a good mirror pulls daylight deeper into the space and makes a tight footprint feel roomier. It also gets treated far worse than any bathroom mirror at home. Chairs roll into it, shopping bags swing past it, and sooner or later somebody sets a kettlebell down closer than they should. The team at Quicken Glass sizes commercial mirrors to the actual wall rather than the nearest stock size, and works out where the light will land before anything goes up. Edges get finished to suit the room. In a studio that might mean one long run of glass; in a salon, one mirror per chair.

Restaurant Wine Display Cases for the Ironbound Dinner Crowd

Holiday season in the Ironbound runs on reservations. Between office parties, family dinners, and out of town relatives who've been promised a meal on Ferry Street, dining rooms stay full from Thanksgiving until well after New Year's. On nights like that, a wall of bottles behind glass starts the wine conversation before a server does. A display case keeps that inventory visible and protected, and organized enough that nobody is hunting for a bottle while a full section waits. Custom wine display cases are designed around the room itself, whether that's the wall behind the bar or a spot near the host stand. Since each one is built to measure, it pays to get measured early if the goal is having it in place before the holiday bookings stack up.

Nobody expects a spec sheet at the first conversation. Measure the opening if you can, snap a few photos, and have a rough budget in mind. That's plenty to get started, and the team typically replies within 24 hours. Work is scheduled around businesses that need to stay open, where the site allows. Quicken Glass is based at 22 Elizabeth Ave in Newark and works with businesses throughout Northern and Central New Jersey. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 8 to 5 and Saturday from 9 to 4. Call (973) 755-9371 or request a free quote online to get storefront glass installation in Newark on the calendar before the holiday crowds show up.
