Claudio Reyna Run Benefits Newark Kids
Soccer great and St. Benedict's Prep alumni hosts first-ever 5K
The Claudio Reyna Foundation held its first Reyna Run Sunday, with hundreds gathering at St. Benedict’s Prep and running to the Red Bulls Arena in Harrison.
Proceeds from the event benefit the foundation, which provides soccer instruction for youth in New Jersey and New York as a way to fight poverty, promote the sport and combat the childhood obesity epidemic.
Reyna, a retired midfielder who represented the U.S. National team in four World Cups from 1994 to 2006, is a St. Benedict’s alumni and now focuses on training and mentoring underprivileged youth through his foundation.
