clean up

Clean City

Newark is a busy active city. With colleges, schools, hospitals and other businesses. There is garbage pick up twice a week, and a sweeping truck once a week - for both sides of the road one day each. While all this is set in place, who is responsible for cleaning the rest of the roads, sidewalks, and the grills on the drainage systems?

The situation is pathetic, and needs immediate action and a through clean up. If this is not done quick enough, the areas will start to stink and be very unhealthy for people who live close these places.

There should be waste bins, at places like bus stops. People wait for buses, eat, drink and before boarding the bus, just through their trash on the street, and sometimes of the fence of the house they are waiting in front of. This has to stop.

The city really needs to spend some time and come up with a workable solution and keep at it. So that people who live here and work here can be proud of this city. I personally feel embarrassed to answer to my guests why the surroundings are so filthy.

Maybe the city needs to get ideas from other metropolitan cities, like San Francisco, CA, Orlando, FL, and so on. There is no excuse for this negligence.

We all need to work to keep our city clean and make us feel proud.
