Clean Clothes Are On The Way
I immediately reached out and offered to wash and dry the clothes for these families at our laundromat that we opened a month ago.

With my lights, whites & colored separated, got my detergent, fabric soften & bleach in hand, time to do some laundry. After a brief scroll around the corner, I arrive at the newly renovated Lotus Laundromat on the corner of Springfield Ave & 15th Street. While washing my clothes & enjoying the tranquility, I noticed a familiar face dragging in bag, after bag, after bag full of dirty clothes, she’s the owner of the laundromat along with her son & a friend of his, also helping them was a long time friend & classmate from ECC , as we greeted each other she explained their mission for the day, who knew I’d bump into a good story on my laundry day. Today’s lesson is something as simple as clean clothes should never be taking for granted & of course a reminder to “do what we can with what me got, till we can do more with what we gain” in the words of Nakeicha Adams - Wilson (Owner of the establishment): “Today I came across a Facebook live page where some of the families that were sleeping in the park across from the shelter that recently closed down. They were requesting detergent in order to wash their clothes since everything was completely soaked from the rain the prior night. I immediately reached out and offered wash and dry the clothes for these families at our laundromat that we opened a month ago. The name of the laundromat is “Lotus Laundry” which is name after the book “no Mud no lotus” which teaches you how to turn your pain into joy. Supporting and building our community starts with us.”
