Community FoodBank of New Jersey Launches Students Change Hunger
Statewide Food and Fund Drive Involves Youth in the Fight Against Hunger
The Community FoodBank of New Jersey today launched its annual Students Change Hunger food and fund drive to get students involved in helping New Jersey residents in need this holiday season. The statewide campaign will run through Monday, December 10, 2018. Students Change Hunger is a friendly competition among schools and youth organizations to donate the largest amount of food. The food drive helps to feed the 1 in 7 New Jersey children that struggle with hunger. Last year, 61 schools participated to donate 30,655 pounds of food as well as $9,268 through different fundraising events. Winning schools included Beloved Community Charter School, Bloomfield High School, KidsSports Academy, Golden Door Charter School, Livingston High School, Millburn Middle School, Montville High School, Orange Early Childhood Center, The Learning Experience (Edison), Union County Vocational Technical Schools and Westfield High School. The FoodBank looks forward to partnering with schools and youth groups to help fight back against hunger in New Jersey. Schools and youth groups can register to participate at www.studentschangehunger.org
