Cops Bust Alleged Drug Ring's 'Tupperware Party' Of Narcotics In Essex County

"Our seizure potentially disrupted a Tupperware party unlike any other," Essex County Sheriff Armando Fontoura stated.

Essex County police raided an alleged narcotics distribution ring in Irvington on Friday morning, confiscating heroin, methamphetamine, crack-cocaine and Xanax stashed in plastic Tupperware containers.

According to the Essex County Sheriff’s Office, the raid took place around 9 a.m., when officers executed a search warrant for a “fortified” second-floor apartment with surveillance cameras at 69-71 Stockman Place.

Once inside the apartment, the sheriff’s detectives allegedly found the target of their investigation, William Annon, 39, in his living room monitoring closed-circuit television screens.

Officers also found two other people in the apartment, Lydia Brown, 54, of Irvington, and Quiana Diggs, 34, of Newark.

During a subsequent search, police allegedly found $20,000 worth of drugs stashed in Tupperware containers throughout the home, including 1,033 heroin filled glassine envelopes stamped “King of Death,” 68 grams of methamphetamine, 22 grams of crack-cocaine and three dozen Xanax tablets.

Police also reported that they found a “variety of drug processing and packaging materials,” including several Goya bean cans with false bottoms which may have been intended for transportation and delivery of the drugs.

All three suspects were charged with four counts each of the possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of CDS with intent to distribute and possession of CDS with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of Myrtle Avenue School.

The suspects were also charged with maintaining a fortified structure, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to violate New Jersey’s narcotics laws.

Bail was set on Annor at $250,000 cash bond only, on Brown at $50,000 cash bond only and on Diggs at $10,000 cash bond only.

All three suspects were ordered held at the county jail.
