Cops Offer $10K Reward: N.J. Teen Slain Days Before New School Year Starts

Police have offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who shot a 15-year-old N.J. girl.

NEWARK, NJ — The Essex County Sheriff’s Office is offering up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a double shooting that resulted in the death of 15-year old Haniyah Woods.

According to police, Haniyah Woods, 15, of Newark was fatally shot and a 25-year-old female was grazed in the 100 Block of South 10th Street on Sept. 3. Woods, a student at West Side High School, was pronounced dead at 12:55 a.m. the next morning.
