Cops Seek Family Of Homeless Man Killed In Newark Attack
Police: "The victim, who was homeless, was known to frequent the area of Penn Station and Riverbank Park in Newark."

NEWARK, NJ — Essex County authorities are asking for the public’s help finding the family of a homeless man who died after being attacked near Newark Penn Station last week.
On Tuesday, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office announced that authorities are asking the public to help find the relatives of Gilbert Garcia, a/k/a Geovanny Gonzales, who died on Friday, June 22 after being assaulted in Newark.
Garcia was attacked on Raymond Boulevard near Penn Station in the early morning hours of June 22. He was transported to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 9 p.m., police said.

“Detectives from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Homicide Task Force are attempting to locate any relatives for Garcia,” prosecutors said Tuesday. “The victim, who was homeless, was known to frequent the area of Penn Station and Riverbank Park in Newark.”
