Daylight Bank Robbery At Wells Fargo In Newark, Cops Seek Suspect

Newark police are asking for the public's help identifying a man who allegedly robbed a local Wells Fargo Bank.

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who allegedly robbed a local Wells Fargo Bank on Wednesday.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, at 12:30 p.m., a man walked into the Wells Fargo Bank at 765 Broad Street and handed the teller a note. The man left the bank after the female teller handed him an “undetermined amount of cash.”

The man then fled south on Broad Street toward West Market Street, police said.

Police described the suspect as a black male, 6 feet 2 inches, wearing light blue jeans, a blue vest and a red hoodie (see below photos).

“While police are actively searching for this suspect, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets,” authorities stated.
