Delayed Openings for JFK, Ironbound Rec Pools

Pools at John F. Kennedy and Ironbound recreation centers will have a delayed opening Saturday to accommodate mandatory lifeguard training and equipment issues.

The aquatic centers will open at 2 p.m. and close at 5:30 p.m. that day. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, June 26. All lifeguards, both season and full time, will receive mandatory training and will be issued uniforms and other supplies in preparation of the summer swimming season at the Division of Recreation's four outdoor swimming pools. All pools open to the public Tuesday, June 26.
